THE BEST WAYS TO WASH WINDOWS
The best way to wash windows is to do it regularly! It is recommended that you wash your windows twice a year. Follow these steps to wash your windows and pretty soon all your neighbors will be noticing how clear and sparkling yours are.
- USE THE RIGHT TOOLS
Turns out tools do make all the difference! We recommend using a lint-free wash rag, a strip applicator, and a squeegee.
2. WASH WINDOWS ON A CLOUDY DAY
You’ll want to do this so the soapy water doesn’t dry on your windows before you can clean them and make them even dirtier than when you started. You can use a cleaner made from dish soap and water or one from water and vinegar.
3. SCRUB THE GLASS
Use the lint-free wash rag or the strip applicator here to evenly spread the soapy water all over the window.
4. CREATE A STARTING STRIP
Once the water and soap is spread on the window, you’ll want to take your squeegee and create a small starting strip right along one side of the edge that is just an inch or so big.
5. SQUEEGEE THE WINDOW
Next, you can squeegee the whole window. You’ll want to start at the top of the window and carefully work your way down.
6. WIPE SQUEEGEE OFF
As you squeegee your way down you’ll want to stop when the squeegee gets too many suds on it. You can wipe it off on a clean towel to be sure it is clean and won’t leave streaks as you continue to work down the window.
7. WIPE OFF EXCESS WATER
When you’ve finished this process you’ll want to wipe off the excess water at the bottom of the window with a lint-free rag.
8. WASH SCREENS
The final step is to wash your screens! You’d be surprised how much debris and dirt can get stick in those. This can be down by simply running water through the screen.
